Not sure how this product made it past the design stage as you would have thought the obvious flaw of being really difficult to get on and poor quality would have been spotted, unusual for a Spatz product.
The zip popped on the first pair when trying to get them on and I had sized up. I exchanged for the largest size and this time slightly easier to get on but the seams are coming away from the fabric when you pull them down over your shoe. I decided the best option was to leave them fitted over the shoes between rides as I don’t think they would survive been taken on and off repeatedly. Another issue is that the zip has a tendency to come down, I think anyone with big calves will struggle to zip them up.
Easy to wipe down and feet are warmer, haven’t been out in any heavy rain to test them yet but I imagine they will be good.
Judging by the other reviews I would hope Tom and his team will be redesigning these, may be better to wait if you are considering purchasing some.
I wanted to love these, but both zippers have lost teeth after 3 uses, seams are starting to fail and they are a nightmare to get on over even slim road shoes, let alone gravel shoes, as they are marketed for. I can't imagine them lasting a week of standard use, let alone a season, and they should last many seasons for this price point. Huge miss from spatz for the months of waiting and nearly $200 cost.
Like Others stated before :they are almost Impossible to get on.
I have ordered size 45-47, my shoes ( normal shoes,no Winter shoes) are 44,5 so I was def in the right size.
It s almost Impossible to get them over the heel.
I managed somehow to get them on , used Them in ONE commute and some stitches became lose after a 20km Ride.
When I tried them on for my commute back, which was the second time using them, the Zipper came apart.
I sent them Back to my reseller.
Sizing not true at all. Terrible to no instructions with overshoes. took so long to ship, i had forgotten I even purchased these. Will look to give these away.
This is the only product from Spatzwear that I have ever been disappointed with ,having been a customer since they first produced their original shoe covers ,the pair i received suffered a few broken teeth on the rear zipper whilst trying to put on for the first time really can't understand why the middle section on the bottom can't be opened as this would make it so much easier to put on ,customer service was excellent as usual and I received a full refund after contacting them about the problem.
