These are the oversocks worn by Mathieu van der Poel and the entire Alpecin-Deceuninck team. In 2024, they have been ridden to victory many times, including the Tour of Flanders.

Designed specifically for (and developed by) a 2x Olympic Champion and in partnership with Alpecin Deceuninck Pro Cycling Team.

The brand new "Windsock2" aero oversocks are designed absolutely from scratch and are a complete redesign of the now outdated (but much loved) original Spatz Windsocks.

Developed for when you need immunity from the wind or protection from the elements when speed is key. The new Windsock2 has a waterproof, stretchy, sleek fitting main panel with a super aerodynamic lycra leg section.

New features include:

  • 2x leg grippers to ensure a non-slip grip. We have added a very sticky silicone tape to the hem, in addition to a woven-in silicone gripper. We do not know of another manufacturer who has gone to these levels to ensure a good fit on the legs.
  • Striated, aero fabric is cut and tuned to follow the contours of the ankle joint and articulate beautifully without wrinkling / creasing on the pedal stroke.
  • Cut tall to meet UCI length regulations.
  • A very tough velcro fastener tucks neatly behind the cleat/pedal interface to allow easy wearing, tuning of fit and a very aerodynamic silhouette.
  • We have added a Kevlar toe area to avoid nicks and tears to the fabric. This is another first in Aero Overshoe design.
  • Silicone grippers have been placed inside the heel area to lock the booties solid against your shoes. They will not "ride up" your heels during a race situation.
  • A subtle logo in mid grey keeps things classy.

We do not know of another aero / TT oversock which fits so well, stays in position so well and actually stands up to the rigours of racing as the new Windsock2.

Seams are positioned strategically right where you need them. Designed to make the most of the wind and ensure race-long comfort.

Flat stitching around the foot to lay seamlessly against your shoe. A genuinely beautiful design which is a pleasure to wear and use.

Who needs aero socks?

I bought the first pair last spring after a friend recommended it to me. I love them so much I ordered 7 more over the course of the race season including a couple as gifts. They are light enough to wear in the 90 degree heat criterium. Decent water repellency(I wear the black ones for wet days). They are a bit tight around the ankle as I have big calf but I can pull it down just a bit to adjust without sacrificing the aero factor. I wear them for all my races now. Beats ANY shoe covers I have used for spring/summer fall racing, training rides and wet days of racing. With this, I don't need aero socks!

Thanks very much ET!

Well thought out overshoe. Big feet narrow calfves.

First of all i rarely do reveiws, but i worn these today for the first time today and was seriously impressed, and thought they needed some credit. I've been doing TT's for about 8 years and always struggled with aero overshoes fitting properly to my calfves, feeling like i'm going to pull a muscle putting them on, for them only to rip once on[you know the brand i'm on about!] sliding downto my ankles within 2 miles of the start, yes i've tried hairspray and all different types of tapes to keep overshoes up. Lets be honest aero coverings aren't cheap we want to last at least the TTseason without getting holes underneath. I've used all the well known brands but feel these are perfect for me. 25m TT today did they slip down? no. Were they easy to get on? yes. Are they tight and comfortable? yes. Is the heavier duty fabric on the toe area a game changer and will last longer than other brands. yes. Well down Spatz.

Thank you very much.
